CompePocket Main Features
VECTOR
MAPS: Can open maps in MPV format. CompeGPS PC can convert several
vector maps formats, like DXF, DWG, E00, etc, to MPV.
RASTER MAPS: CompeGPS can open raster maps o format .IMP
and .MAP. The images files must be of format .BMP or
.ECW. We recommend the ECW format for this program. We tested it
with a ECW of a size of 10.000 x 9000 pixels. BMP are also good: They need a lot of disk memory, but they do not use
memory when they are loaded.
DEM (DIGITAL ELEVATION MODEL) MAPS: CompeGPS can open
DEM maps. So it can calculate the altitude of new waypoints and
routes.
CompePocket
can open two maps at the same time.
CompePocket
can read tracks, routes and Waypoints, like the PC version program.
It can
also download tracks, waypoints and routes from the GPS. Can also send them
to the GPS.
Can work with multipoint - routes.
The
main menu and the buttons can be completely configured from CompeGPS PC.
Map View
The PocketPC keyboard can be used for panning and for zooming.
Displays different context menus, depending on the map object you click.
Zoom In, Zoom Out buttons.
100% Zoom button, View all button.
You
can Zoom Window or move the map view using the stylus.
Finds
Maps at current position.
Moving Map
Works with NMEA and Garmin PVT protocols. The 'auto-detect' protocol
will detect for you the protocol your GPS is using.
Loads the best map for the current position.
Can activate a route, and navigate though it.
Can
Navigate through routes, with sound effects.
Can display different values, like speed, bearing, etc. You can configure
which
values to display.

If the route you are following has altitudes, it can display al altitude -
distance graph, and show you your position in this graph. This works great
with multipoint routes.
(In this example, the blue line is a route. The route altitude graph is shown in the button of the screen, and your position is the vertical red line)
You can program an alarm for any moving map parameter, for example, speed
or altitude. In this example, the alarm will sound if your
altitude is less than 1520m.

Communications with CompeGPS LAND and AIR
From CompeGPS, there are new options in the Track, Waypoint and route context
menus, called 'Send to CompePocket'. This way, with two clicks, you can send
any CompeGPS object to the PDA.
From CompeGPS, you can open a map, select a rectangle on it, and send this
part of the map to the PDA. You can also send a whole map. CompeGPS converts
the map to ECW, and sends it to CompePocket.
In the CompeGPS Communication Menu, there is an option to download tracks,
waypoints and routes from CompePocket.
Other features
You can create and edit tracks and routes.
Complete communications with the GPS, to donwload and send tracks, waypoints
and routes.
